Сайт "3D Architech - Новости CG графики" и производитель стеклянных конструкций компания Аспект-Плюс объявляют о старте конкурса: "Часы нашего времени".
Задание: смоделировать в 3D или создать 2D эскиз стеклянных настенных или настольных часов.
Сроки: конкурс стартует 21 ноября 2008 года и продлится до 21 декабря 2008 года.
Призы: по эскизу/модели конструкторы компании Аспект-Плюс разработают и выполнят стеклянные часы и передадут их победителям.
Победители в двух номинациях - "Выбор Аспект-Плюс" и "Приз зрительских симпатий" - будут объявлены 21 декабря 2008 года на сайте 3D Architech - Новости CG графики.

 BlurBeta plugins have finally been recompiled...
With huge thanks to the guys at Blur, the old BlurBeta plugins from Splutterfish have finally been recompiled for Max 2009 (32-bit and 64-bit). There are also a few plugins in the pack that aren't available in the old versions.

Flat Colors locally flattens curve which removes smooth gradients and gives image kind of cartoony look.

 This tutorial describes how to create an experimental movie clip using Blender and its new Freestyle renderer.

 SMD Importer v0.1a enables 3D Studio Max versions 9, 2008 and 2009 to import SMD files from Valve games. It was inspired by the work of Cannonfodder who did similar work for 3DS Max versions 5 thru 7.
Plug-in Options: import mesh, rebuild smoothing normals, import materials, import bones, use dummy for orphan bones, use dummy for end bones, attach mesh to bones, convert from left handed co-ordinate space.
